Been reading up on the NSW govt website, many involve oil or diesel fuel leaking onto the turbo and the fire can be well established before the driver realises.

Also been doing some investigation intot eh cause of these fires, and at least two of them have been caused by crystallized glycol from the cooling system - in short a long persistent leak of coolant onto hot parts which has evaporated the water component of the coolant and left glycol only, which is flammable when extra heat is applied to it. At least in one case I am aware of, the operator of a fleet has mandated that all his buses and coaches will use organic (no glycol) coolant. Something to be aware of ... :o

Melbourne (Vic.): Armstrong's training bus. Early 2000s? (D White). This came to me as part of David's estate, but with no caption. I can't guess the buildings/street; I can't identify the vehicle and its likely age; I don't know when the photo was taken.
Because it is not a scheduled operator, there is no entry for Armstrong in Australian Bus Fleets Lists.

1988 is too recent for historic. This is a typically-decorated bus in Pakistan, and that Mercedes logo has to mean Mercedes chassis too; it isn't just another part of the elaborate artwork.

That was observant, and it could well be a Hino, with the Mercedes badges as decorations: I was worried by having two, and not central; that is partly why I mentioned them. The Hino badge appears to have its lettering in Urdu, so there is no guarantee of what it reads, and this was the only photo which I took.

Where was the photo taken? Might be legislation there to slow down to 40kmh passing buses. ;)

Edit ... must be Australia cos it looks like Michelle Bridges on the bus!!
