Replied by Roderick Smith on topic Ventura (Melbourne, Vic.) Tiger in 1998
980630Tu Balaclava Jn, Caulfield North (Melbourne, Vic.): Z1.77 on route 64 East Brighton, Ventura Leyland Tiger 25 (FRW0125) on a replacement service during work. (Jeff Bounds).
There was a lot of overhead work around this area around July 98, but replacement on a Tuesday seems out of character.
From ABFL:
Leyland Tiger TRCTL11/3R / PMC Commuter, May 86, seating B41D .
From 2010, Stonestreet's Coaches (Toowoomba, Qld) 45.

Replied by Roderick Smith on topic Ventura Christmas bus (Vic.)
Ventura’s festive Christmas bus brightens passengers’ journeys.
December 22, 2015 Maroondah Leader.
Bus driver Andrew Fairhall decked out the bus himself with tinsel and decorations. Picture: Stuart Milligan FORGET the sleigh – this Santa’s helper is delivering joy the old-fashioned way.
Ventura driver Andrew Fairhall is helping Santa spread Christmas joy this year, driving the region’s renowned festive bus.
The bus is decked out with tinsel, baubles and a Christmas tree to help passengers get into the festive season.
Mr Fairhall said the passengers’ faces light up when boarding the bus, which frequents the Maroondah and Yarra Ranges region.
“The awe they experience is amazing and most comment on how the bus has brightened their day,” Mr Fairhall said.
“Everyone is offered a candy cane as part of that Christmas feel the bus gives.”
Mr Fairhall said the festive bus had been running for 30 years and was funded by Ventura, while a second bus now covered even more stops on the north and south routes.
They operate from the first week of December through to Christmas Eve.
“It takes 14 hours to decorate the bus because everything needs to be firmly fastened to withstand the daily bumps,” Mr Fairhall said.
“(It’s worth it) because customers leave happy and full of praise for the bus.”
