Isuzu clutch 13 or 14 inch

Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me how to identify whether I have a 13 or 14 inch clutch behind my 6BD1-T without pulling it apart?

I am looking at changing my gearbox and I'm told this determines what options I may have.

Looking at the FSR/FTR manuals (1986-),

the FTR, FVR, FVM models with a 6BD1, 6BG1, 6BD1T had a 14 inch clutch. The gearbox was a P1,P-11 gear mesh box

PI-PII are different syncomeshes than the PIII


Also,

FSR - 6BG1-TC (PI-PII box)
FTS - 6BG1 (PI-PII box)
FTR - 6HEIM, 6HEIS (PIII box) has 14 inch.


And;

FTR, FVR - 6BG1-TC (PI-PII box)
FVR -6SA1-T (PIII box)
FVR-6SA1 (PIII box)
FVR-SA1-T (PIII box)

has 15 inch with different Set Forces


Sorry, I can't find anything about clutch size to gearbox model (eg MLD6)

The motor came out of a JCR500. Would this make any difference?

Sorry, I have no idea.

If the motor is out, it's easy to split and reassemble. Have the motor on a trolley and hang the gearbox from a gang-tree/joist using chain block. They come apart and go back together easily.

I've found Dandenong Isuzu parts to be very helpful.

The motor is in and would be a pain to split it apart. I put one it a while ago but buggered if I can find the receipt. Cheers

Dodge Fred put me onto Clutch Industries when I was looking for a Roadranger clutch.
They have a pretty good data base and maybe able to tell you what you have.

While searching through my "filing" system on another mission, I found the receipt for the old clutch.

It is indeed a 14 inch unit.
