You really need to let go on the White thing, when you read what White did to some of the other American makes, in particular DiamondT I have very little sympathy for White.
Now just to set the record straight I have a White Construckstor (better check the spelling) plus a White Sewing machine, along with three DiamondT two in bits and one going.
My problem here is while you condemn Volvo because of the demise of White, on the other hand you purchase a Mack made by Volvo.
We must now enter into a more serious discussion about destroying an icon, Scammell in my opinion an English icon, not only destroyed but with no good reason by none other than a Paccar Company DAF.
What DAF did was unbelievable, there were people prepared to pay for the Company, so they could continue, but no they demolished the Factory and its contents, the buyers did not want the Factory, just the things inside but no DAF wanted to destroy Scammell and that is exactly what happened.
By the way I do own three Scammell's and have an extremely soft spot for English Trucks, even though I must admit the Poms were not heading in the right way when Paccar finally took over the remains namely Leyland.
By the way nice piccy love the pink, when you are as good as a Volvo is, you can have any colour you like.
