Subbies Future..??????

What is the future for subbies with the introduction of new truck regulations.....
I am hearing (right or wrong ) that some big trucking companies are going
to place large orders for new trucks...............are they going back to
company drivers ??? .......if so ......what happens to the subbies ???

There is supposed to be some meetings being organised

My understanding is that It only applies to Single Truck Owner Operators.If you have 2 Trucks you're exempt from the Order.
I can see a big swing to the use of small Fleets by Large Companies to sidestep the New Payment Order..The rest of this year will be "interesting" to say the Least.. Until some sort of Balance is Found...IMHO..

Quite different rates for supermarket and long distance
I don't think the industry has quite got its head around this.

My understanding is the definition of ‘contractor driver’ is quite broad and can include a corporation where the vehicle/s are driven mainly by shareholders, directors or their immediate family. So I don't think it matters how many trucks you have.

Latest on this is that the start date may be put off till Jan 2017.
