What are people's thoughts on the conventional KW with the new cabs?
My 20c worth.
Much better ride.
Wider cab, if that matters.
The clutch pedal has the right amount of pressure. Old KWs are hard on knees and Jap RR clutches were too light.
Far superior dash lay out. Old cabs you can't see the high beam light or the heater controls.
Much better driver vision.
The old W cabins are 100 times better looking, in fact the whole 'Legend, limited edition' KW is based on that (the rest of the truck is identical).
IMHO The cab looks like a Sterling as does the dash.
The cabin is made from pressed steel. This is a positive for painters as there's no rivets but the old cabs could be repaired by drilling out the rivets and fitting new fibreglass and aluminium panels.
Why keep the T designation when it's an entirely new cabin design?
I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Steel cab, hope they don't go the way of the Louisville and Sterlings. Rust in Pieces.
Huck bolted fibreglass and aluminium lasted well and like the fact I can buy a new replacement ply floor from Home hardware.
Spose next we'll see that fugly W990 showing up

Still not as good as a Western Star, but in some ways better and others not as good as the 900. The mirrors are still too far away and vibrate. The extra width is an improvement, but they should have cut and shut the old shed, to make it full width.

Haven't seen one up close, so I will not judge, when I drove trucks for a living it was always a week or 10 days at a time living in the cab of a truck and bunk, pretty much everything had the same motor diffs gear boxes, my preference was always Louisville because you had room to move around get dressed room to put your fridge, no other reason I don't see and difference in any of them, people, manly KW fans talk of rust in Louie's mine is nearly 50 years old and it hasn't been a problem up to now. Of the trucks I have driven recently, Western Star with the Constellation cab is a absolute stand out, if I was to go back on the interstate merry go around, there would be nothing else, you don't live in a pokey little house why would you live in a pokey little truck.

I have driven quite a few KW, well 5, and the only one I hated was the latest Cab over, that didn't last very long at all, it was always good to be able to stand up and put your trousers on a wet night, that's not even a problem now with walk in sleepers they are all set up better now.

T610 have become popular with farmers in our area, quite a few around here now.
I have sat in one, but haven't driven it yet, so can't comment on good or bad. I thought the T400 i previously carted grain with was (still is) terrific, and i don't generally like bonneted trucks................
I think the T610 with SAR grille/front look good, but i'm not a fan of the standard front.
Brett.
