I was just going through some paperwork on my OKA and came across a good diagram of the Hydro Boost system. I followed up wi8th some research and see a huge number of vehicles from the 1970's onwards use this application. Most common of course is the American GM and Ford PIck-up to medium truck range but all over the world they can be found.
It replaces the old vacuum and vacuum over hydraulic systems with a much more robust and foolproof operation. Everything is driven off the power steering pump which provides pressure to both steering and brakes, Apparently a failure of the pump or drive belt results in a much less extreme drop in performance than vacuum systems.

Interesting, is that what the OKA has or are you looking to upgrade, I recently replaced my F100 booster with a dual diagram one, after just passing brake test every year, I have gone to having the best brakes on anything I own on the F100, it has a belt driven pump as it is 7.3 diesel, and it holds enough vacuum for a couple of pumps after the engine stops, a mate has an electric vacuum pump on his F350 that works rather well also which is probably good if your motor stops for some reason.
