OKA's on the Move

We just got back from an OKA gathering at Silverton north of Broken Hill. There was more than one forum member in his OKA.
An interesting drive on dirt roads all the way from Nindigully to Tibooburra with the vehicles half a ton heavier from the mud by the time we got there. Had to do sealed road home as every dirt road is closed due to rain.

Four of us drove from Brisbane and joined about 25 others from all over Australia.

We met a couple of blokes who have invested in OKA in Perth and they want to ramp up production of the latest model (Cummins with auto box). Apparently the mines are the target for an initial order.

It's been a long time since I've been in those two pubs.

Interesting drive, which way did you go" Down to Bourke and across the Cut Line?

We stayed a long way from the main roads and ran much of it in 4wd just to be able to maintain control. Everybody lost it at some stage finishing up facing the way we came. We were the last along the roads and on two rough sections came out the backside of Road Closed barriers ie we were on the road when they closed it so were legal to get out of jail.

Mostly station access roads.

I did that run in a Porsche 911 about 32 years ago in a Charity Event. 

Great drive in the dry, a struggle in the wet.
