We picked up a 236 on the weekend slow trip in the old c1800 IH 160 Cummins only 80km at 2000 rpm what is the max safe rpm you can run the 160 Cummins at

The 160 Cummins will rev to 2500 rpm i thorght that was to high

2500 is what it's supposed to do.Not enough revs can overheat the motor.The water circulation is too slow at lower revs,if it is working under constant load.It's not like the modern engines which are designed to work at lower revs

I sat on 2200 rpm was 85km by the gps on the way home with the tractor on the temp was on 150 f. bloody slow on a long trip . Thanks mate :)

Yes it was a cane pusher and a water wintch ancher thats why its rusty there was not many 236 champions made this one is number 31

Hi HA the number on the 236 is on the chassie rail below the lift pump on the super 70s below the generator

I LOOKED THERE, STILL CAN'T FIND THE NUMBER, THIS IS A MARK 3 INDUSTRIAL I'M LOKKING AT, WITH A 236, ANY IDEAS, MUST BE DIFFERENT TO THE STRAIGHT 236.
