Absolutely love your slasher. Beautiful work on the oil filler cap too. It's satisfying cutting threads once you get the basic idea.
if that's a Honda engine they have 2 different thread types so I found out but both were readily available at the Honda bike n mower shop n cheap too but nothings makes you feel so good as making things especially on the lathe.
Here is the closest thing we have to being a slasher, it's a scythe

It's a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engine (made by Daihatsu) and has it's own thread so nothing was interchangeable with it.
I do like the Trail Wing tyres on your slasher, it's a great way to deal with the problem without breaking the bank and they do look right on that machine. We had one on the farm years ago and it had knobby motorcycle tyres.
The wheels on my slasher had rubber vulcanised to them but one fell off, I have since fitted old mountain bike tyres over the wheels (no tubes). They work perfectly in rough terrain but wouldn't win a concours prize at a machinery show!

Thank you. I've had my little Chinese lathe for over 20 years and used it many times but never cut a thread. Luckily I'm an old hoarder and kept all the gears and the instruction book which shows the ratio combinations for the thread cutting speeds.

My tyres are motocross ones. Originals had a bar tread with each one offset to the next.
My lathe is also Chinesium with all the cutting gears but had not thread chasing dial for when cutting threads. No brake on mine either so can't just stop n reverse. It took ages of back n forth chats on Smokstak machine shop to find the right gear to adapt to the lead screw so I start each cut in the same place.
