I really have little interest in buses but know a lot of people do.

Recent visit to Brooklands (just south of London) to look at the aircraft and old cars found the London Bus Museum have moved there with lovely new huge building. First class restorations.

First photo is me looking at an interesting non-bus vehicle. All the rest are inside the museum.

Thanks for posting, I love it, unlike the horses, who look bored stiff.

If you had to stand there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you would be bored also.

Brooklands is a must. Birthplace of British Motor Racing and Aviation. First British aircraft flight by A.V. Roe in 1908, first purpose built race track, first car over 100mph etc. Barnes Wallace designed and tested the bouncing bomb (Dam Busters) here. The atmosphere is great with many of the old buildings and a big collection of historic vehicles and aircraft. Good cafe with goo..., well English, food.

Easy to get to from London on the train to Weybridge in about 30 minutes or down the M3 if you are driving.

There is plenty to interest women so take your cook with you.

The bus museum is a new ring-in with Brooklands giving them space to build their big shed. A case of two volunteer organisations working together for mutual benefit.

The web site is very good and you can get lots of info about the early days.
