My sincere apologies for NOT conforming to the Forum rules by not posting pics. So here are some to whet your appetite. I finished off cleaning up the parts using a small file and then opened up my newspaper spray booth and applied aa coat of etch primer to both sides. Parts are now curing in the sun of the dining table.

The castings had plenty of flash.

What colour will the truck be?

I actually thought they were not all that flash to look at. :)
As for colour I have yet to decide that. Something that would be suitable to that era. I guess they have black chassis and springs but maybe a pale yellow or pale green cab.

Well the job is done and as good as I can get it. My eyesight lets me down along with not having a steady hand for these very fine parts especially in assembly. Ignore the massive offset of the red winch wheel and steering wheel as the bit of wire has no hole to poke into and if it did I could not find it. So with wobbly hands and super glue that is how the wire/axle bonded and is where it stays. At the end of the day it gives someone something to pick on, and I like that being such a sick mongrel. So any complaints will be filed in the "who cares" department.

Cobba, don't worry about your "defects". Just back it into the shed and no-one will notice.
Ya dun good.

The casting quality leaves something t o be desired.

Usually with diecast models they are ultra smooth.

Still looks good and who is going to get down and close to the truck to criticise it?

Cobbadog, you have done as good a job as the castings let you. My version of "Who cares" is "Tell someone who cares." You could always say "Show me the better one you built."

If I ever get to Coopernooky, I will call in for a cup of coffee and will look at it but will not find fault.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Always happy to receive visitors and have a cuppa and talk about our interests. Put it this way I wont be putting walls and a door on the barn to park the Federal in, it is what it is.
We take off in the morning for a few weeks on the road so all the toys will be left alone to gather dust. Once back it will be full on getting Lorry ready for the Yesteryear Truck Show and tidy the David Brown up as well.
