Yair, we don't need anything like that any more. Remember the idiot Government advisor just a few years ago who told them it was never going to rain again? I wonder what the people in Qld and NSW think of him now?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Tragic for the victims, but there is a lady on the telly saying how angry she is that flooding is happening time and time again, and the govt hasnt done anything about it...........however she s never asked to explain exactly how the government can stop the rain.

MrsMac we don’t need any schemes like that anymore, we’re going to have an abundance of cheap green renewable energy. Haven’t you heard about it.

Funny thing is that it is cheap green power and the "Snowy 2 scheme" is gunna feature in solving those problems that get Lang's allways getting wound up about

A big part of the Snowy Scheme back in the day was flood mitigation, anyhow the greens (bless their cotton socks) have solved all the problems by stopping any further dams for many decades now

An interesting statistic quoted by one of the staff at the Snowy Hydro Centre was that the whole Snowy system as it stands now when in full production only makes 2% of the power required by NSW which is not all that much in my opinion and the recirculation (pumping) of water back up hill is not all that efficient and Snowy 2.0 like so many projects has blown the forecasted budget to have it done and working with a long way to go. But we must be used to Government schemes always blowing out the budget.
