Very similar principle to those Flathead Chrysler tank engines cobbled together for WW2.
Think they used 4 X 6 cylinder layouts, must have been a plumbers nightmare to work on!

2200 rpm. Perfect match for the bus with the 6speed and diff.

Might need a short tail shaft but.
