This is where I am now. Gearbox been checked out, freed up the clutch due to lack of oil. Handles off and gearbox is now sealed up n clean.
Handles have been cleaned up. When removing them I had to remove the throttle cable as it runs inside a handle so tied some blind cord to it so to pull the cable back through on assembly.  But I broke the cord using the wire brush cup. So I ended up feeding some mig wire through. I have a broken tyne on the cutter bar but oliver1952 has kindly offered a replacement.
I bought the paint yesterday and is as close as possible to being mid Brunswick Green. It is Dulux Epoxy high gloss paint. Mew tubes are on the way n 2nd hand tyres are ready to fit once painted.

I used to watch the guys mow the grass (almost bush) every year, or so, at my Primary School in the 50's with these.

I always wanted to use one.

I see them on Marketplace quite often, but not silly enough to buy one.

I'm enjoying your efforts.

Well done Cobba, you'll be surprised, maybe not surprised at all
Just how well these cut, sickle mowers don't have to be super sharp and spotlessly clean to work well
The Allen Scythe mowers I remember with wide wheels and cutter bars were in really steep country and you mowed around the contour, if you tried to mow up and down the hill, on the way up the hill the mowers would over balance to much amd cutter bar is pointed towards the sky

Some blokes reckon they would flip right over, I think this might be stretching the truth a bit

But if mowing up and down steep hills, maybe keep this in mind

One problem I found was that the armature plate had been moving where it was attached to the crankcase, it was held in place by two screws.

First I cleaned up the faces

Then countersunk all the screw holes

First I found a bit of suitable tube and drilled it out to fit the screw

Then countersunk the screw holes

That way I figured the screws would only have to clamp the parts together without having to locate them as well
