To make him look purdy was the aim so hopefully I can do this. The real hard part is doing the highlighting of OXFORD ALLEN on the wheels. They are to be highlighted in yellow and my hand is not steady and arthritus in 3 of the fingers doea not make it any easier.
I have tried in the past using a fine brush with terrible outcome, but using like a felt/sponge flat brush maybe the best option for me. Alos thought about a felt tip marker.
As for production I do a project as I think of it and boy are there some waiting for me to get inspired. Once started I want it done. Some get turned out fairly wuick and others take for ever like the HO train set which has not been forgotten just waiting for more inspiration and ideas.
This scythe has been needed to be done for too many years and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, knowing its not a train coming. I will wait a while before taking the wheels into town to have the tyres fitted so the paint has to harden up more yet.

Don't worry about the felt tip pen
The paint pen is all the go, comes in many colours
I have used paint pens on switch boards for years and many other things like that, and if you bugger it up you can just wipe it off before it dries

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I have used those paint markers. I am not convinced that the paint quality is very good. They cost one quarter the price at newsagents that they do at automotive parts places.

Went Office Works n bought a bright yellow paint pen, $7.50. Did a test run on the new paint where the cutter bar bolts on. Not too bad at first, put 2nd coat on n looks better. Will wait for it to dry n check it out tomorrow.
