Here he is, with his train and rolling stock, he built all of this by hand

It occurred to me that I didn't know where it was. Found it. Really should clean it up and put it back in the house. Bloody thing was stuck to an old reel to reel tape deck...

This came from out of the blue. It was given to Dee so it was a challenge to get this tiny thing to run again persistence paid off. So far it lijes the flat going but breaks traction on the slightest of inclines. Thinking of more ballast

Today was bath time for a damaged carriage, well it's roof n a coupler were missing. Found another coupler on a spate part but the roof is now a section of 50mm PVC pipe cut to length then gently heated to get it to sit just right. The gap wad less than 2mm but I wanted it closer

Yeah, thanks PAul. ITs called a Gandy Dancer by Bachmann in Germany. Its a little hand operated cart that workman took from point A to B. It was a real challenge because everything is so small and my magnifying glass with a light on a stand came in handy as did my long tweezers forholding screws annd moving and connecting tiny parts.
I tried some ballast over the drive axle but no go it still breaks traction andwith a bit more it didnt move. So it is what it is. Dee and i are just happy it lives again

It's been a busy few weeks, The big (10ftx5ft) N scale layout sold. My model railway club had a display at the Port of Echuca during weekends of the school holidays where "Fender" my N scale layout in an old electric guitar case was on display, running but with incomplete scenery. A couple of people asked if I had a spare guitar case and would I build them one on commission. The answer to both was No". The amount of work to build a fully sceniced railway when there is around $450 in track and controllers, $100 in a guitar case and a couple of hundred in buildings and scenery mean that I would be selling at a loss unless they sold for a couple of thousand dollars.
"Fender" has been entered in a model train show in Shepparton on the first weekend in October so I need to extract the digit and finish the scenery before then!
