Here is another bits so to speak. It is a genuine Model 4 base n engine but being from the later run of the model 4 it does not have all the holes for side skirts but does have the mounting points for front n rear flaps. It has been left unpainted as its up for sale on market place. It will fund the next rebuild. Can't believe that the original coil n condensor ate still good. Got bitten by the spark so I can tell you it's good. I fitted new seals n gaskets in the engine but all 3 gaskets are sealing ok. Even the very old KLG plug is alive. The engine is now at 0.060" over size so I just gave the cylinder a light hone n refitted the partially worn rings. Going by the nice crisp note they are more than good enough.

Mr Richardson badly needs a marketing manager. Fancy the release photo of your new mower featuring the worst lawn in Sydney.

Lang, their marketing was ‘turn grass into lawn’
Sure did on our farm late 1950’s.

Overnite, think that feature was for an edging blade fitting, Not sure, never seen one.

That groove was meant for an edger that the blue prints are out there in cyberspace n one had been built but not by Victa. It was deemed too dangerous ad was the automatic functions of the Automatic mower. When owners bought the mower in for a service all those parts were removed n dumped without telling owners this wad going to happen. They were converted to being throttle governed just like every other Victa 18 but they paid extra for. I bet there were some arguments over that.

Thanks Lang, those drawings explain what my curiosity was. I thought it was for an edger arrangement, but could never work out where it picked up the drive from. The drawing explains it. Thanks.
