I haven't been sitting about so here are a couple of toys I've been messing with. 1st is a late model Victa 125cc mounted on an engine bracket vertically. Made its little expansion chamber from 3" exhaust pipe. I had to make a little flywheel to balance it out. It does start but not running properly yet. One day it will drive something.
Next my Victa TilaCut needed a sprucing up. Didnt expect to go this far but shit happens. Finally a Victa Utility 160cc had minor issues but was running again in under an hour. So of course i had to paint it too. Non original blue paint but its going to look good when i finish it in a couple of days.
Heading back out on the road again after Easter n hopefully diesel prices will drop by then. Expect to be away about 8 weeks if all goes to plan

This is Chopper Reid our mulcher n chipper. He needed a valve adjustment which is so easy on these OHV engines plus the chopping blade sat too far away from the mandrel to be effective. So I shimmed it out n now chips like a beauty.

How well does the tilt a cut work ? I have never seen one been used so dunno
They never seemed to really take off for some reason in Australia
I dunno if they were a bit of a gimmick or the advent of the whipper snipper killed them
Good stuff Cobba
And the fuel prices are a bit of a challenge these days, I guess the world will keep ticking along

My missus loves mowing the lawn. I bought her an electric start self propelled Masport and she just strolls along. Unfortunately she is a whipper snipper freak and the concrete edges look like a plough has been along so heavily does she get into it.
I can just imagine our paths with that VICTA edger. Karate chops and edges looking like they had been jack-hammered. If she really wanted one I would buy it, anything to save me doing the lawn!

I have got a Chinese version of the tilt a cut, but only about half the size. Works like a little ripper. The only thing I found which was a bit of a nuisance was the lack of blades from the supplier.
Funnily I found that the blades for a Victa edger were a perfect fit after I trimmed 8mm off the end.

Hi Paul.
the Tilt A Cut is belt driven from a pulley on the crankshaft then twisted to another pulley on the blade shaft. The last blade I had wad a circular one so that makes it hard to chop the concrete n leaves a nice edge. Because the old blade was well past its use by date nni had a standard straight blade that's what I fitted. Really if you follow that black line I highlighted on the deck with the edge of the concrete all goes well n leaves a nice cut. The depth can be adjusted same as a Mowers height. They are quick to do the job n although I do have a hood Stihl whipper snipper this is easier on my shoulders.

This project is close to my heart. It belonged to a close Family friend who suffered from deep depression n took his own life. A few years later his now late wife asked if I wanted it. I told her it would be an honour to take it, make it run n show it on his behalf n I would be the Custodian only of the mower. Well with some work done mainly simple servicing it started n ran. But there was an issue with the cranking side of things.i made a new bronze bush which helped a lot, adjusted the chain drive n it was fairly good but needed more work.
Well it's time to solve it completely. There is some wear on the crank handle shaft inside of the housing plus a lot of wear inside the crank handle itself. So I've made the new boss up this far n will bore it to size once the shaft had been trued up.
