G'day Thunder man,
That was a very tidy P76 complete with a large boot. Can't say if it was fitted with the portable auxilliary 44 petrol tank.
We haven't seen much of you on the forum for a while. Does that mean you are busy fixing something to surprise us with??
Geoff

g'day fellas speaking of big boots, i once picked up a 4x4 compound spicer from ol' mate up at castlemaine in my old HQ...a bloody great 8016-5B and he said..''where's ya trailer''? so i said ''no trailer bloke..just put it in the boot!''
so he got the loader, put it in the boot (after a bit of wriggling) and off i shot to melbourne...no worries
bit low in the bum though!!
cheers

Detective - Ha ha! That's nearly as good a trick as my brother with that HK Holden I mentioned. He put a full set of track rollers from a Cat D6C (yes, 12 lower rollers, and 2 carrier rollers!) into the boot of his HK Holden, then barrelled off at 120kmh from Kalgoorlie to Perth, to get them all reconditioned!
When they were done, he threw them all in the boot and barrelled back at 120kmh again!
However, halfway back to Kal, he stopped to fill up, and found these mysterious buckles in the rear panels at the top of the rear wheel arches?
He spent 10 or 15 mins trying to figure out, what had caused these buckles?
He thought someone had backed into him for a start .. but there were even buckles in both sides? He got underneath, and then it dawned on him.
The rear subframe had been riding solidly on the axle rubber bump stops .. and every bump and sunken culvert, pounded the subframe into the bump stops a bit more!
The rear subframe had given up under the constant, repeated impact, and the entire boot and rear of the car had bent downwards .. thus creating the two large buckles in the panels above the wheel arches!'
He paid a panel beater a few bucks to belt the buckles in .. bogged her up and painted her .. and then traded her in! There's nothing like a well-used bulldozing contractors car! .. particularly when it's been used as a truck!!

You probably haven't missed much .Chocs and Lorry both have been very very quiet :'(.That home brewed Bio diesel must have played havoc with lorry's motor again . He reckoned he was a starter in Chocs sandown convoy , but no mention of him or photos of the rig .Im very happy to be back on line so I can check on Lorrys progress .Catchya Rob
