the 70, to be honest, isnt the most useful tractor in the shed. doesnt have any hydraulics so its a bit tricky to use on the scarifier but heres a picture of it having bit of a go.

that certainly is a good looking super 70 , twin air cleaners really adds some visual grunt

Chester, no till/zero till/dry land farming basically eliminates working the ground (and burning heaps of fuel as well) as much. Pretty much plant, spray out any weeds, when the crop is mature, spray it out then harvest, then plant again. Idea being to keep the miosture in the ground. A lot more round up used.

Elgindale will correct me if I've got that wrong.

Hokay ... if I don't ask I'll never learn! :-? With the two twenty disc ploughs, what keeps the rear one sitting out wide? Must be a tendency for it to fall in behind and I can't see a stay cable! ::)

Bugly good evening,
All those 20 disc are pushing the plough out to the left by trying to run straight ,(as the front wheels on a truck would do if you turned the wheels to the left) The weight of the plough on the wheels you hope is enough to hold it straight.Same deal with the front one as it will only have one pulling point as well. When the ground is to hard and the plough not heavy enough the plough will swing out and try to pass the tractor,But in the photo the ground is soft and all is well ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)Hope that makes intelegent reading :-? :-? :-? :-?

Ahh I see it all now Colin. Bit like a water skier pointing his skis out to the left, but still being pulled from the rear of the boat on the rope. And the further the skier wants to go out left, the more he heels over and digs his skis in.

With a plough, the harder the ground, the further around to the left it'd go. All to do with the way the discs are set on the plough.

Thanks mate!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
