ACCO cab differences was created by Mick Lomas
Hi All,

I've just purchased a '92 ACCO 2350D and the cab is quite rusty. Apologies if this topic has been covered before.

My question is what are the differences in the cabs through the years? This is a steel dash model so would say a '70s model cab fit, or what would?

Or does anyone know of a good cab in Victoria?

Cheers Mick

I think that the A through to the E series will interchange.. i have a Feeling that IVECO changed the Cab Mounts on the G series. (But happy top be corrected)

Give Cowra Truck Wreckers a call, They specialise in Acco's & will now off the top of their head..

Smarter people than me will tell you also but I belive one of the ACCO cabs was galvanised. And one was called an Eagle, I don't know if they are one and the same.

I think the gal cabs were called EPD cabs, which stood for Electricily ? Dipped.( I forget what the D stood for. Didn’t do a lot of good, it just made them rust a bit slower.

The EPD sticker was on the mid 70s trucks ,where the cabs rusted out quicker than a XA Falcon two door......often the EPD sticker. was on a big rusthole seemed to have started under the sticker....Stood for (IMHO) Electrophoresis dip"...kind of process said to make sure the paint reached every nook and cranny........Later gal cabs were ,maybe late 1980s/early 90s?......I recall Jack Pierce buying a new gal Acco cab to replace a rusted out one on the 1950B?maybe....Think he paid half price ,due to the truck being fairly new.

Without going out to read a sticker, i think EPD stands for Electro Phoretic Deposition, and these were on the A,B,C series.

The zinc cabs (not galv) appeared in '86 on the D series.

galvanising uses zinc so same thing. The zinc can be put on either hot dip or by electroplating
