Hi carmoda, was good to catch up the other day.
What indianman said is right. We started on that subject, but kept getting sidetracked.
You will also find one of those hoses on top of the fuel tank. Do it as well, even if it's still good. It will fail soon enough and likely with intermittent problems at first. You can do without that trouble.
ASW.

Carmoda, I found the handbrake cams and pins - we were only inches away! They were in the old Commodore. Still have to find the big J-bolt and springs, though. I'll keep looking.

HI Carmoda,
Did you end up getting your fuel hoses sorted?
Agree with the others, in the past I have carefully removed the old hose from the crimp fittings and then used new hose with suitable hose clamps.
When checking through the parts that came with our ute found these two in the bottom of the box,
NOS tank to fuel line and fuel line to fuel pump hoses.
If you are having toruble sourcing hoses in Boonah and are wanting "fitted" hoses, I can take these as samples into a Hydraulics shop in Brisbane (where my brother works) and have a pair made up, correct hose and fittings.
I note that the hoses on our ute are stainless braided lines that appear to be original.
Regards
Roger

Well finally my shed is finished.... so over the Christmas/NY break I have been slowly moving my tools in. Once in I'll start to strip down the cabin or quick respray and give the engine some TLC.
One Problem....this turned up.
It might delay the proceedings.

rb057, i got my top rubber fuel hose section rebuilt by the kind fellas at Pirtek (Hemmant) cost about $20. The existing bottom one seems fine... its really supple and clean so i might leave it. I just need to get the old girl running under her own steam so I can move her into the shed to clean up that cabin for a respray. I know she runs as the fella i purchased her from drove her onto the trailer. The brakes are the only serious mechanical problem.

if anyone has a schematic of the electrical system for the AB series or similar i'd be very grateful. I keep an eye out on eBay for any manuals etc. I am happy to pay for postage both ways if need be. I have a very fancy scanner at work.

Hi Anthony,
The shed looks good.
Here's a small size copy of the electrical diagram, from two diffrent sources and links to high resolution images (all for educational purposes).

Might have take our ute for a drive out your way and call in with our manuals. (will PM with contact details)

OK, so i have a handle on what wires are what that thanks to Roger... Now to get the old girl to turn over so i can drive her into the shed to do some real work. My problem is she isn't drawing up fuel from the tank. The engine kicks over fine and I know she runs as we drove her on the trailer when i picked her up. that was via hooking up a fuel container directly to the pump (because of the ruptured line, now repaired). So the pump works... i guess I'll need to prime the pump. any tips? here a a pic of the pump and the new section of hose.
