L110 international truck (australian version) was created by plastic bertrand
hi everyone. tim from south australia here. first post.. what a pool of knowledge you all have here.
picked up a International L110 truck cab with a timber tray, silver diamond motor 3 on the tree box and sits on 5 stud 16" car rims also its a split screen with two rear windows. googled the cab as what looks to be the american 51 version minus the tub and they had curved single windscreen here we had split screens. it is supposed to be a 1952 australian produced cab. anyway can anyone without a picture (at teenage sons mercy to post a picture) help me identify its rarety as by what iveread to date its rare being its a ute chassis with a truck cab. with a 1/2- 3/4 ton pay load.
id plate read as AL110 wb 115

Hi Tim, in America and Australia the one piece windscreen didn't come out until 1954 I think.
Yours will be American being an L 110, they must have imported quite a few, I've seen a few, even though they were manufacturing here. the tray body or cab chassis was a common option, my AR 110 is set up the same way.
The well body's had longer running boards.

AL 110 1950 -53
A is the aussie made truck is it not??
Chrysler made some of these cabs, single piece window came out in the AR series i think about 54 same as when the Dodge went single windscreen.

AR went single screen in 1955 from what I have been told. The AL cab continued into the AR series and the single screen cab continued into the AS series.
For the small, ute style units some cabs were imported particularly for those with the tubs. They had an exta side window behind the door in much the same way a modern falcon ute does.
The cab didn't change in size from the 110 to the bigger trucks, just bigger guards and steps.

The ute as in the style with the cab and tub all one piece with the windows behind the doors was a aussie made thing. Yanks never had anything other than what they called the step side bodys or tray tops

Hi Tim. this is my AR 110.
www.hcvc.com.au/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1346124025
It came from St George. there was an L 110 out there too, was originally a van I think but had been cut down into a shooters wagon, very rough, I don't know where it ended up, more than likely scrap.
