I immediately thought of the road runner and coyote but no wrong again horses and Mounties of course.

At least if we get across to Canada we have accommodation and transport. A mate who visits us most years drives for Grey Hound and has offered us places to stay around the place.

Needless to say grandad is probably spot on with his Rugby claim, the grille is a dead give away ;), about a 1930 model.

I have a couple grainy photos of photos of the harvest in the early 40ies, with the Fargo hauling grain and our family friends truck helping out. I don't know what brand of truck it is but maybe somebody here could I.D. it.

You got anymore photos of the Tractor & header (combine to you)...??? I'm curious !!!!

I think I have a few, my grandfather used a D-2 Caterpillar as a tractor. He was considered crazy for using a diesel crawler but he said he put his kids through university on the money he saved. I'll look around and see what we have for photos.

After seeing this thread is on page 3 I hurried out to the garage and started working. The winter weather of a consistent -21c made indoor activities more appealing anyway.
I cleaned along the drivers side frame rail so I can install the wiring harness. It was a couple days of gross scrubbing but I was amazed what was under the petrified cheese under the truck.
Sorry hayseed, I haven't found those combine pics yet.

Hello Someguy Minus 21 Celcius is a bit too cold for me. I thought someone else more knowledgeable than me would have responded with information on the truck (Ute in our terminology) in Hayseed's farming 1940's photo. It is a Dodge-Chrysler product. Badged either as a Dodge, Plymouth or FARGO.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Nice job on cleaning up the chassis. Looks like the springs might need resetting.

I would be struggling with minus 21c, I think my fingers would stop bending and I donno what else would happen

I wouldn't get anywork done as Im guessing I wouldn't get enough to between having a pee every few minutes, it's bad enough at minus 5 or 6 :silly:   :silly:

It is amazing how neat that is underneath
