Hi Scratcha
Glad you are feeling better,as far as I am concerned ,it would fit the mantra. I think there would be a lot in the club in agreement. My motor mechanic does Roadworthys (he is a car enthusiast). He has done all our cars for over 15 years but you might have to see a VASS Engineer first.
Cheers Fill

Thanks Fill, I reconed that about the VASS
The ideal way is to engage an engineer first, but the beddy was originally to be a resto, but, things change

Put the old girl in for a RWC check yesterday, not surprisingly there is a few things to do, none a game changer.
Biggest is the drivers window winder!
And for the Bedford enthusiasts, Windscreen rubbers are now made from unobtainium!
I have used a Bedford CF rubber, had to cut n shut it, but it will work.
I went to rare spares as I was informed the FJ holden one is the same, The one the young bloke brought out was a totally different profile.
ACW cant get them either although they are trying.
Oh, and FJ holden winder handles are the same (M, O and K series anyway) but at $70 each.......

Scratcha,
I made up a set of FJ window winder and door handles from second hand and antique shops for a car a few years ago.

I need to check here more often, Got the window winder handle from Wouldyou (thankyou david) pride of place on the drivers door
She is now roadworthy, waiting on rego.
I must say, one of the more enjoyable thing of this build has been the banter on the various forums, pages etc, ive been bagged, belted and patted on the head, had the "why diddnt i thing of that's" to the "You did what?"
All part of the virtual shed mateship.
I dont get to meetings for many reasons, so being able to rub shoulders with you lot is great.
Hope to meet a few of you on the Crawlin run. I'll be the one with the ear to ear grin

Well, we have covered a heap of kms since our last post, nearly 100km's done on the crawlin the hume run, great fun with great people and fantastic trucks.
I got to meet a heap of people, put faces to a lot too!
caught up with Fill from here at the start line, looking forward to sharing an ale or to with him!
Got the old truck bug real bad now, need a jimmy to fill the shed and empty the pockets!
the run went well, loose rear axle kept us interested at the start of the day, lack of tyre clearance between the tyre and tray was a welcome distraction from the terrifying driving habits of the truck!
Turns out, the front end alignment was up the creek, (I didnt touch the adjustment, figured after 70 years, it'd still be right! right? wrong!
toeing in 20mm made the thing dance around all over the joint!
Hit a bump with right front wheel, and truck would jump to the right...a lot! followed by a bounce to the left.
My co driver reconed we should name it the "time warp"
Every one should know that song...."its just a jump to the left,...then a step to the right, put both hands on the wheel....and hang on tight!" :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
now adjusted, drives great.
Stops very well, great on fuel, a bit rowdy in the cab, but soon to be rectified.
didnt use water or oil, got a heap of interest on the front brake swap.
I must say, the run was fantastic, and the participation from the HCVC was great!
Looking forward to seeing more of you lot!
Lastly, THANK YOU, all of you that have watched the build up of this little banger, commented, criticized, praised and advised along the way.
Without the encouragement from all, this wouldnt have taken place.
The Bride may want to take a hit out on the club due to grease in the carpet, but she loves the little M nearly as much as I do.
The old truck hobby is fast becoming a lifestyle, an industry and a huge part of many communities events.
The HCVC has been a long term supporter/ promoter of the movement, and deserves the recognition of that.
