An H4 is a Halogen bulb. You can buy various shapes and sizes of lens to put the bulb into. I upgraded the 7" round headlights to H4 rather than use driving lights. The bulbs I chose use the same wattage as the old sealed beams but throw a lot more light

Hi,
You've done a lot of fine work since 13/11/14.
That's only 8 weeks.
You've done very well.
Half your good luck and maybe me one day.
Thanks for the pic's.

I'm interested in your headlight conversion. I have to do something with the lights on my M also.
Mine are more like 8" dia though. Where did you get yours and are they fitted into the standard buckets?
And congratulations on the great work and thanks for all the updates.

If they are 8" look at early model 2 Series Volvos, that's what they had.

Cam, I removed the lamp/globe holders of the original bucket/reflector and fitted a H4 globe holder, a bit of mucking around, but should work ok.
Hope to do a bit more after the young blokes wedding in March

G'day all I don't know the shape of the globes in these things but if they are like the big base lucas units try your local bare co dealer ( tractor stuff ) as they do a halogen replacement to suit those bases.

Been a bit going on Fill, I have started my long service leave and the bride and me are doing a half lap, (over to the left side, up the coast to darwin, then home down the centre)
So, the work load at the farm has been huge, getting the ute ready is still on the go and work flatout to boot!
(oh, and im now a type two diabetic :
