Ok, its been a while, ive had no end of trouble getting bits for the brakes, had no luck getting drums, rear cylinder was knackered, master cyl no good.
Tried to go down the later model truck diff route without success, different spring pack widths, hand brakes predominantly mounted on rear of gear box etc, then the nightmare of matching master cylinders to different front / rear combinations........so.......
This'll upset the purists among us.
Im converting her to 4 wheel discs......
Ive fitted a rear axle assembly from a BA falcon, hubs from a XG ute & master cylinder from a BA as well, all PBR, all available from the corner store.
No its not historic, no its not original, no its not heavy duty or able to carry 4 tonne any more....BUT, its NOT going to the scrappy, it will be used, it will be enjoyed and importantly, it will be safe and able to stop in todays traffic.
If you feel it dosent belong, say the word. I still would love to stick about as i would love a bigger banger down the track (looking at a job change and im jack of weekends n night shift) hell, i cant even get to a meeting and the last time i went to a meeting the new club rooms hadnt opened and i turned up with sausage rolls :woohoo:
Ive lost a heap of time on the truck due to farm commitments, but am aiming for Crawlin.....
I prepare for the onslaught!

You have just answered your own (if any), misgivings about your project!.
So, the purists MAY object? Let em! Your doing what to you are happy with, I say there should be more of it!
Some people get a kick out of simpy following some rebuild projects, others get theirs simply by collecting what sometimes could be construed as other peoples crap!
These forums although as varied and widespread as they could possibly be, have one thing in common. They will be READ! That alone makes it all worthwhile.
Keep the postings coming, and the best of British Luck with it, Cheers
