Its your truck so as long as it sees the road again who cares? as long as your happy with it. When I first got my K model a few months back brake parts seemed to be the hard thing to get. I was contemplating taking the same route as you. My local brake supplier had no problem getting all the parts and in no time I had the master and slaves rebuilt and the brakes working. It is more a case of rattling the right cages to get the answers you need rather than relying on someone to look through a book. I dealt with bygone Bedford bits in the UK for a few bits and pieces, if you cant get something here in oz its almost certain he will have it or can get it, get punished a bit with the conversion rate though. He is a bit old school making the service much slower than it needs to be in the digital age (insists on international bank transfer rather than paypal) but he had a few bits I needed.

G'day fywb .. I've got to commend you for the transition you've been able to make to the old truck movement, and your ability to get things done PRONTO !!

...the Beddy's are great old girls and by you leading from the front foot recently, a lot of blokes can become that little bit more inspired... Cheers to both you and scratcha.

doesn't matter what you do someone will complain. Someone claimed that I had taken a short cut as the tray was held together with hex headed nuts and bolts. I gave him a spare of each I had and said "I need 70 of these and 100 of them, let me know when they're ready" that was 8 year ago - he hasn't said a thing since!

I briefly thought about fasteners when building my timber tray. I did have a good look to see if I could get something period style for the deck slats but it nigh on impossible and the idea was a budget build. At the end of the day I went to Bunnings and got the modern fasteners designed to do the job. I really don't care what any body thinks and if I ever sell it and its a concern for the new owner they can spend the day replacing them.
Its more important that it survives and is seen on the road to inspire the next generation than stuck in a shed for years waiting for the correct bolts.
