The engine builders have the engine stripped down ,it seems to be ok although the head gasket was shot




you can see that the bores arnt to bad & he said it just needs a hone , i am not going to worry about boring it oversize ,





the pistons are ok so we are going to re use them , although they will get new rings , mains ,conrod bearings , welsh plugs etc...

he said i might have got away with a head gasket ...(may have fixed the overheating problem) the engine didnt run to bad beforehand although it was blowing some smoke . but he said it hadnt been touched in along time ,so it wont hurt to fit the rings & bearings (hurts in the hip pocket though !)

Having it pulled down will at least give you some peace of mind about how it will go in future though!
