John, going down backwards is a lot easier on the knees, just needs a handrail, or a pole in a socket in the corner of the tray to hang on to.

Juhn, I've got some old Sulkie steps under the tray on my old C1300 for just that reason.

The long gone, long door Perkins ACCO-
My old Dad's knees were pretty buggered, and he'd come with me sometimes.
He kept a 5 gallon drum on a short length of rope on the passenger side-easy.

Hi all. Going back awhile I was adapting a Bedford bus hand brake cable. I bought the new bus cable for $40.00 I made a end to be squashed on to the cable, after I cut it shorter The cable guy said he would only squash it to the cable if I got the end plated.I got it plated.I got it squashed on today. He charged $50.00. His business wont be getting a plug. I thought it was a bit dear

I wonder what the go was with having to get it plated ??

Maybe to stop corrosion ?

You probably could have heated up your new end and poured bronze or silver solder in as it seems to hold well when little cables are done that way

Looks magic. Moccasins only in the cab thanks. You can't even put dynamat or carpet on it now, the quality of the work is too good to cover.
