HI been doing a bit it might sound like I'm a bit tight, but about 9 month ago I got all the brake drums ready to paint.
I masked up and painted the top. With the bottom I masked up to paint with hi temp paint and started painting. When I had painted two I thought I would run out of paint and stopped.
9 month latter I cleaned the exhaust manifold, bridging washers and washers then I brought another can
Cheers Fill

Thanks Swishy it is nice to get feed back, here is a few more photos. It was still warm when I was painting (so I stayed outside)
With the inlet manifold the previous owner must have had it machined which made the intake sleeves too long.
He must have gotten frustrated as first he put washers under the bolt heads and thought they were too long. He then put lots of silicone on the gasket.
I made up a filing jig- pictures tell the story.
Cheers Fill

Thanks for the comments as I have said before comments are like photos to me.
I like to replace bolts that have been under a lot pressure or damaged and some because it looks better.
I do not know why I can not get the same length (had to cut a fair few )
Today I fitted the alternator.

I hadn't seen the hole in a block of timber trick before.
Smart idea, all bolts identical length and also helps start the cut without buggering up threads.
I'll be using that idea.
By the way it's looking good.
