It's about time I did something with this truck as it's been a work in progress for 5 or 6 years

The 1st two pic's below are from around 1954 when it was new on the Nullarbor

It looks like a pretty straight sort of a unit that one

Looks like the old paint held up fairly well considering its age
We dont see scroll work done like that anymore my grand father always said when he saw a fresh truck finished like that "they were done up like a dunny truck" I never lived in town so I have no idea what a dunny truck was done up like ???? :D

Regarding the dunny trucks.
In the 60's there was a company in Brisy that specialised in tarting up/selling old bangers. They always looked pretty but were usually buggered.
Dad and a mate were looking for a truck. Every so often the mate would stop and shake his leg.
Turned out he was indicating the truck was an ex dunny truck and he was cleaning the crap from his shoe.
The poo juice would get between those laminated chassis rails and you could poke your finger right through.
But the cabs all looked mint with nice scroll work.

Good to see you are fired up to get on with the resto Colin.
Unfortunately, when I walk away from a project...usually because something has really pee'd me off, it is very hard to get motivated and get back to it again. (that Case L in my workshop is a good example)

How is progress with the Inter D?

Cheers Geoff

Fantastic to see another old Inter getting restored and I love those first two photos....

Are you going to transplant the door lock cylinder from the passengers door to the drivers door?

Never thought of that, haven't got a key for it anyway ;) ;) ;)

Tacho,,,There is nothing about that L that a angle grinder or oxy torch won't fix ;D ;D ;D Come Geoff into it.
Now the D you will see through the door of the R180 in a photo down below.

All that gone before is past history and now to the here and now

Now to the morning effort

Now I have to sort this lot out and put the cab back on then into the bonnet guard and grill

As long as they leave me alone and don't ring from work I still am trying for Alice

But first things first I am going to the River this weekend and now to get the caravan ready
