Hi Paul, I think i have it sorted, i have a Fleetguard LF3769 coming as we speak and i hope it will go close to doing the job. Almost ready to refit the motor just doing the final small things, distributor and fuel pump etc. Also fitting a ww stromberg carburettor which should take out any flat spots. Will see how it goes, Cheers Hommie

Hi, Well i just fitted the Fleetguard LF 3769 and it was a good fit. Other Filters the same as the Fleetguard LF 3769 are Baldwin P 7196, and Donaldson P 550563. So any one wanting a cartridge filter for the early Commer sloper petrol motor either of these above filters will do in place of the OEM filter. You will need to either cut out or find a square o ring for the top of the canister as the o ring supplied with the filter will not do as it is a lot smaller and is not square profile. Hope this may be of help for other restorers looking for a filter cartridge for the early Commer. Hommie

Hi Homie, here's a bit of inspiration. This was my Dad's R7, photo taken in 1955. Great job you're doing there pal.....

those petrol R7's must've been hard work on a stinking hot day .. no front panel vents on those early ones, and no 1/4 vent windows in the doors ...( i s'pose you flipped out the front screens early days ?)
