Have cleaned up the motor, removed water pump and installed new Water Distribution Tube. Replaced welch plugs. Removed sump and cleaned out oil pick up.
Starting to look like a goer now.
Starts first hit and idles smoothly.
Smoking a bit now so looks like some new rings needed.

Have had complete brake system rebuilt and will be installing this soon.
Then it is off the blocks and see if it moves under its own "steam".

Good progress, The smoking may settle down after it has run a few miles.

Good stuff mate, but I reckon you could be looking for trouble with that top radiator hose.....

Slowly but surely the Fargo is coming together.
Added some Magical Mystery Oil to the fuel and the changed the oil. Also got a carby kit from USA and changed a few bits, cleaned jets etc thoroughly, new gaskets. Now running better and smoking very little.
Had the brakes "done" i.e. new bonded pads, drums machined, new pistons etc, all new brake lines, master cylinder rejuvinated...and now it stops as well as goes. :P
Driven it around the court a few times and no apparent issues. Forgot what it is like to drive a vehicle without power steering! And it has the turning circle of the proverbial Queen Mary.
Now starting to work on ancillary bits (e.g. windscreen wiper, horn etc) and some body bits and electricals.
Have removed the door windows and will be replacing the bailey channel etc and the rubbers.

Yeah, dieseldog, I agree about the top radiator hose. Will need to replace it but at short notice it was the best I could find.

looking good, I reckon it's always a great idea to have the brakes done up as you have done but once fixed they will be good for along time keep up the good work

Thanks Paul. Luckily a member of the local Chrysler club also owns a Brake business and was familiar with the didge brakes..which are known for being difficult to fix and not working that well, so important to get it right.
