Slowly things grind on around here, just happened to be in the right place at the right time when a '50s Bedford bus was being cut up - scoring the front bumper and irons at my most resourceful price (as in nothing!) . . .
A bit of narrowing in the centre (where it was already split anyway) and by some judicious switching/reversing of the bumper irons resulted in this:
Only mocked up in position at this point and now requiring minor additions to chassis to meet bumper irons; also the refitment of original centre piece that covered the joint.
Looks better than the bull bar that was there before, and no doubt better than not having one at all?

That looks factory! Shame it cost a Bedford its life, but oh well....

The Bedford was on its side with the spring hangers being gas axed when I got there, it was already history and the bumper would have gone too - but now it lives to see another day

I read at the start that you were looking for literature on the FG/2.45 models ....just so happens I scanned these many moons ago.
Hope they help.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Yair, Werkhorse. Gold for a Morris man as well. After all Morris and Austin were all BMC and then Leyland.
Well done.
