Hi All,
WANTED:- Someone who may have an early ACCO Inter that is/was fitted with what Inter called the T-17 4 speed box. It is actually an NP435 New Process.
I made some enquiries here before and was given a page from a workshop manual which unfortunately doesn't show in enough detail just how the remote gearshift mounting operates.
Hoping someone may have access to one where they could perhaps take a few photos and post them, or send them to me.
I have one here in the shed currently undergoing rebuild which has the remote top on it, but it never came with any sort of linkage(s) on it. Must be still a few kicking around, only need the actual photo's (or a decent exploded view) of BOTH ends of the gearshift linkages, where and how it fits onto the tower at the gearbox and the other end where it fits onto the body/chassis or radiator support.
Thanks for any help.
Dave.
BTW, last time I was up at that blokes (Barry) place at Midland Spares, he was just about to close the doors.

by early you mean butterbox? They're similar to military? They're the only ones I know and could get some pics of one with a T35 tomorrow. They're just a top loader with the stick cut down and the linkage connected to it

Here's a couple of photos of the offending beast. Definitely a T-17 (NP435) out of Inter, BUT may be later tilt cab version. If it's any help, the NP casting No. is C 96752 B.
Still painted the original Inter red, I also have the standard top loader shift for it here.
Have been told it MAY be out of ACCO 510A

Wedgie,
Think I know the ones your referring to, have either a block or a yoke for a small universal attached to them, same same as Bedford cab-overs??
Understand that end, but how do they operate at the OTHER end of the gear change shaft, in or under the cab, had photo may better able to understand.

Steve,
Very similar set up, but something makes me think that the set-up you show, may have been fitted with a yoke for a Uni-joint?.
As my photos show, this one has the single 'finger' or selector the same, but the actual lever that moves backwards and forwards to select the gears, also has to slide in and out of the cross shaft housing. The remote shaft from up front, seems to almost have to have some sort of bracket attached to the tower case to allow the sideways sliding action. And, that's the part I don't have, or a photo or diagram of.
Cheers, Dave

Yep they had uni's on them.
There was an thread on here for Acco 510 that ended up with a pic or two of the radiator mount gearshift.
Rough memory says the Acco (at least the A's) had a TEE on the end of the gearstick with a bush in it and a yoke on the end of the shift tube that bolted to it. That twisted the whole shaft to move the selector across in the box.
Cheers Steve
