Oilman is this truck being done in the image of the truck your father owned? Is the paint scheme his or standard Atkinson or some other company? EMNTK.

Sarge - Yes, I am paining it in the same color scheme as the JWG HARVEY MKII Atkinsons (only difference is they were 1/2 cab sleepers). It is a 'standard' Atkinson color scheme from that period, but the IH Dark Green was the color Harvey's used (as a carry over from when the fleet was made up of a lot of Inters.)

Today I managed to fit the headlights (I had previously restored these having painted or plated all parts, and fitted new wiring), the side lights (new items) the wiper assembly (I bought new cranks and also have new arms to fit), polished the original washer jets and refitted, new blinkers and made up new treads for the step.

A few photos of the dash. I filled in where the radio had been fitted plus lots of holes from CB's etc. On the top of the dash where it is 'grained' I used an engraving tool to add the 'grain' back to the holes that were filled. Once painted they are very hard to notice.

Brilliant work mate, but I recon it's going to be a bitch to drive with a steering wheel that size.

Apart from glueing the carpet onto the roof of Lorry for his head lining I did do one back in the 1970's when learning to be a panel beater. It was in a HZ Holden and with the hood bows fitting in the right holes it was a matter of glueing the edges around the screen and door jambs. For a 1st year learner it was daunting at first then I had to learn how to use less glue to make less mess, At least that lesson has stayed with me.
