On Saturday with the help of a couple of mates the cab was finally fitted back on the chassis. It all went smoothly and then the rest of the weekend I spent on refitting the cab rams, mudflaps and working on the wiring. The problem I now have is that the cab is sitting 4-5" higher than it should. It looks like a 6 wheel drive, but I'm missing the front diff. I can't even get into the cab without a ladder. 3 years ago, early in the resto I had the front springs reset (supposedly to original specs) but clearly they got them wrong. I can understand it perhaps settling an inch or so once it hits the road, but can't see it dropping much more.

I wouldn't stress to much just yet, you might find on the first drive it settles a few inches, may not either
I have seen spring packs settle over a 3 inches in the first drive about

Looking good and it must feel good to have the cab and chassis reunited

Oilman,
As a Swedish gentleman said to me a few years ago "It is Very Excellent."

I think I can see an ear to ear grin above those whiskers, and well deserved too!

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

OR, as Hannibal Hayes (A TEAM) would have said had he still been around, " Don't you just love it when a plan comes to fruition?"

But think of the view from up there . . .

. . . and the masses of mundane everyday drivers will be able to see your brilliant work so much easier now. ;)

do you have any pics of the suspension pre-strip down to double check all parts (such as packers and brackets) have gone back absolutely the same.
