I've spent the last few weeks continuing the reassembly. The wiring is completed and all the lights, horns, heater fans etc are working. I have tested all the warning lights and gauges and repaired or replaced senders etc. The interior is fully assembled with the exception of the floor mats (I have provided the templates to the upholsterer), steering wheel and gearshift boot.. Today I installed the gear lever and completed all the air fittings. I installed an air fitting in place of the drain cock and pumped it up with my compressor - multiple leaks and no pressure. Tightened a few fittings, repaired the air regulator on the gear box and tried again. Managed to get about 50PSI but then one of the air relays was leaking so the next job is to dismantle that.

Last week I took the front springs back and had them set 120mm lower (well I hope they are). I need to have the springs sandblasted, along with the radiator, paint those, install and then she should be ready to fire up. I primed the fuel system this weekend and contrary to expectations no problems at all. So no more jobs to do until the weather improves and I can finish the last 2 painting jobs. I also fitted the badges to the grill (the original 'A' was plastic, but I fitted an earlier one which is chromed brass.)

The "A" badge looks pretty good. Was that original cleaned up or did you have to have it rechromed?

Rechromed. Bit hard to see the GARDNER 180 badge but it was rechromed as well and then I had to paint part of it in black by hand.Lang wrote: The "A" badge looks pretty good. Was that original cleaned up or did you have to have it rechromed?

I'm in the process of chasing down all the (relatively) small leaks. Identified so far are both R6 relay valves, foot valve, range change button, air regulator and one hose on the gearbox, low air pressure switch and windscreen wiper switch. I can't find kits for the relay valves so will probably have to replace those. I would like to repair the original foot valve. It is very clean inside, but after 45 years I think it needs a new internal valve (marked 3 below). I can't find a model number or anything on the web. The photo below shows the exact type (from Atkinson spare parts book). Does anyone know of a company that might specialise in parts for these?
