I'm really keen to get the correct timing specs before I go much further...
I think I can buy a new genuine manual for $100(?) with unknown delivery time from the US.
There's one on eBay that I can't really make out because the photo is so fuzzy.
rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A...2Fitm%2F332499255774
So now that I have the new tool kit, can anyone tell me where to find the timing figures... please!
Anthony

Ah my addled brain...
I've read the spec sheet and it appears that special tool ms67b is heavily involved in marking the pump body, something the pump shop hasn't done.
Pump #FY (L21-3)
Engine check angle 135deg
Pump Mark angle 127.5deg
To be honest I don't know what these angles refer to exactly, however it appears they're both set with the pump at 1mm of stroke.
So if I find TDC & turn the pump to get 1mm plunger lift we don't in fact need the special tool.
However this doesn't agree with old mates advice of 3 point something millimetres BTDC

The pressure set of the injectors and the internal volume of the non standard injector lines will alter timing ,so any listed figures for a standard setup wont be correct ,anyway. In my experience, small variation in timing has no noticeable effect on running, but over advanced timing makes the motor very rattly at idle, and also very hard to start cold, at frosty temps.

It's a factory turbo engine... as far as I know all the lines etc are standard fitment, albeit a bit uncommon compared to the half a billion naturally aspirated 6354s they made...
Rang the pump people, they'd seen my email asking about timing but have still yet to be back to me.
Might get back to it on the weekend.
In other news, how do you make a trailer track like this unit I saw today...

Perkins 6354.4 turbo
Cold valve clearance is :
•008" for intake.
•018" for exhaust
Lost my book presently but I don't know if turbo engines are different in any case.
Cheers
