What if I told you...
It was a good runner but now the pump has been fixed it needs the quill shaft advanced by two teeth.
25•7degrees advance means the timing marks under the pump don't line up anymore, but the pump meets the spec, 1mm@16degBTDC
I guess the proof positive will be when all the pipes are installed, the air is bled out and the key is turned...

The last new vehicles with mechanical injection are now over 10 years old, wonder for how long anyone will know about this stuff.?......My Courier is the last Ford with a non electronic fuel system, from 2006...I know all Bosch inline pump and injector spares are now from India, none of it made in Europe any more.

And though the positives with electronic are many I still like the simplicity of mechanical. Even I can troubleshoot my old Perkins and managed to swap over an injector pimp without a manual.
I looked into replacing the injectors on my diesel Ute. They say you need to plug the bloody car into the computer and tell the car which injectors are now in it. What a load of rot. Just more money out the window.

Aarons,
Most of the late stuff you have to input the injector details (serial number etc) to the engines computer to make them work.
Great if you are in the middle of nowhere.
That is why the old F350 got a Cummins 5.9 , full mechanical system and can be worked on with just about basic tools.
Cheers Steve
