Can't beleive the size of the diff under this truck

This is just part of it as I need to do sections of main rail
There was a wooden tool box built with in the chassis plus the old tray above allowing this rust to perculate over time.
Plus I just did'nt look hard enough when i inspected the truck

DOT 3, although don't get your hopes up too far. Hydraulic brakes are the least likely thing to work when a vehicle has sat for a long time.

I think your right
I'll probably just end up with a mess
I need to get the handbrake free. the tongue the brake pulls on appears to go into the slave cylinder so freeing the slave some how will be the go

I'm not sure if that was a pommy thing, or just a Rootes thing. Hillmans had them too. Nothing scary there :)
You never know, I have had brakes unexpectedly still work after sitting a long time, just not usually.

Best to concentrate on one bit at a time.

Gordy

Have been looking for the manual, only one other possibility in the shed.

If I do find it you can have it as I have finished restoring my fleet of 1950 Commers.

PS. Any DOT for brake fluid - the higher DOT numbers are for disc brake higher temperatures which consideration I don't think will impinge heavily on the Commer braking system!

Sorry Gordy, that was a feeble attempt at humour. The only Commer I own is a 1968 VAAWE 8 tonner Perkins powered.
