Bedford K Model Windscreen Wiper Motor Repairs

Hi, I'm trying to revive my NASCO 12Volt Winscreen Wiper Motor out of the 1953 Bedford K.
Wasn't working when I got it, so carefully pulled the two halves apart & freed up the main shaft.
The wires from the winding were not connected to the Battery & Earth terminals, so perhaps
previous owner has already had a go?
I've put power to the windings & their is a complete circuit (test globe lights up), but when wires
connected to the terminals the shaft doesn't rotate. This is basic electrics I know but not sure where the fault lies.
I've taken the gearbox cover plate off & all looks OK & gears rotate. But on re-assembly I'm having trouble
aligning the little lever with the lug that lines up with a hole in the smaller lever attached to the
backing plate. Doesn't seem to have much movement?
Has anyone worked on these?
I know you can buy new generic units for hot rods & boats, but Id like to keep the truck original.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Pierre

Trying to add photos but files too big.
How to resize photos off the I-phone?

I think I have one in the shed. If I am correct you can have it.

If the search comes up with a unit I will PM you for postal address.

That looks like a shaded pole motor to me from what I can see

I'm guessing it has no brushes ?
If so and it is a shaded pole motor it will be very gutless

Make sure the motor isn't poling at all (the bit that spins can not touch the out side piece at all except on the bearings on each end)

So bearings have to be spot on and it should spin freely or it won't work at all

Paul, yes just seems to rotate within a magnet, I'll re check it's not touching anywhere, the bearings seemed OK.
cheers
