Air conditioning for the older trucks

I run a Viesa find it reduces the temp a bit together with windows being tinted
Sound ridiculous but the White the only place to install the underdash unit is in the passengers foot well area
Suppose what I saying all these big trucks and no room got more hope of an install in the C1600

We have plenty of room for an under dash unit in Lorry the FC144 Hino so we can both benefit from it. I am not too interested in the Viesa s it is just an evaporator unit and causes moisture in the air and we want it to be cool inside with the windows up.
Red Dot is an upgraded version of the Webasto units and it oozes quality and with that comes the high price which is a bit over the budget for a vehicle that is out on the roads only about 6 - 8 times a year to go to Rallies with the toys on his back.

Quality is like oats. Once they’ve been through the horse they’re cheaper.

Beware of any so called "air conditioner" that you have to add water to, whether for a vehicle or a building. They are simply evaporative coolers that add moisture to the air. They are known in the trade as "Swamp Boxes" or "Swampies" They will work when there is very dry heat, as in most of the central parts of Aus most of the time but WILL NOT work when there is humidity in the air, as in southern coastal areas and tropical areas.

A proper air conditioner must have a refrigerating action and condenser. These cost more to make than simply a fan over water, so cost you more.

You get what you pay for.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Thanks Morris. That is exactly the reason the Viesa system won't be going into Lorry. It is just an evaporator unit and no good in humidity.
I am still chasing up some local guys to see what can be done for Lorry. I will let you know when I know more and then I will possibly annoy you more with more questions.

All my vehicles are air conditioned. When the conditions are right, you get air.

Ya bloody funny lot. Lorry can do both 60 klm and 60mph but we dont want to thrash him!

It is hard to get answers from suppliers this time of year as many like me have to wait for our suppliers to get back to work. So in good time answers will come
