I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Oilman, PDU and Cobbadog are smashing out their restos, but work is keeping me busy.  When does the lockdown start? LOL
Progress is slow ATM. I'm still working on the windscreen frame, doors and windows.

I'd say the standard you appear to be building with is good enough reason for long term building; if mine gets halfway as near I'll be more than satisfied. (Hardly "smashing it out"- but so full on it is testing the wife's patience enough for me to stay away from it today! )
Like the floor in the cab too.

More progress.
As the doors are wooden framed any holes can't be welded, so I've been soldering them up. I think that's called Lead Wiping? And now know why plastic body filler is called lightweight filler.
New timber between the cowl and windscreen frame.

My shed is not that big and all the bog dust etc. is going all over everything, so I've bought a cheap 'Spray booth'.
It's doubling as a panel shop ATM.

I had a go at lead wiping at TAFE back in the day and there is a lot to getting it to work as easily as you see on old videos of a production line. I watched my Dad one day solder the lead sheet to a galvanised pipe chimney in the wind one day. I was like a stunned mullet to see how bloody easy he made it look to do and the finish was a dead smooth melt from full thicknes to nothing.

Love your work Southbound. I had one of those cheap shelters for car storage a few years back, and it worked really well for a while, then one day a bit of wind blew small twigs from the nearby gum trees and the turned into little spears and put holes all over the roof. I fixed by buying a cheap silver tarp and securing that over the roof area. You might want to think about doing the same preemptively before the windy wet weather starts.

Thanks for the tip Scout. I've already had to do a modification to keep the roof in place, fingers crossed it will hang in there till the end of the job!
