Rockwell R170 outer bearing locknuts missing

This one has me puzzled.
I was in the process of disassembling the axles for brake replacement / drum removal where I seem to be missing the threaded outer casing and locknuts usually found on these housings.
Picture show one large bearing housing and no way of getting around it. Anyone know how this comes apart.
Appreciate the help.

the olden days they had a seal as U pictured
mainly to keep the bearing grease from enterin the diff oil
n vise versa ... diff oil enter n the hub grease
Fast 4ward to the new millinium
they dun away with th@ seal so the diff oil can supply oil to the hub bearings etc all in one
BHind the seal U should find the lock nut , tabd locking washer n bearin adjusting nut

Thanks Swishy,
I didn't want to rip into to it without checking first. Yeh, an old R170 parts book I have doesn't even show it.
Thanks again.
