Well done. I would never have the patience to cut out all those letters by hand, and what a neat job!

I'm too lazy to do it your way. I'd pay the sign maker to cut them out then I could fit them out of level!
It does look great,

I always was a cut and paste jockey . . .
Latest addition is aluminium strips on steps, a bit fussy and almost left them off as they looked like a bit bling!
However they make sense to me . . . not that anything makes sense to me really, least of all building a truck that will be lucky to go anywhere at a sensible pace!

The aluminium strip's really suit it. It's just the finishing touches that make or break the end result.

Looks fantastic!
The aluminium strip on the steps tie in with the side mouldings, and so don't look out of place at all.
Brett.

Day spent tidying up some loose ends, like tightening the exhaust as best I could (sufficient to get to Clare and back, after which it will be changed to a front mounted muffler). Rubber strips added under the bonnet, supplied from what was trimmed off the rubber purchased for the upper turret side steps. Filled in the hole on the peaked piece I made to conceal the back of the instrument panel, this was done using some "surplus" metal acquired along the way . . . I would have used a "Do not overtake turning truck" sign that Ernie gave me about two years ago but it was an inch too narrow! Bugger! Then I remembered a piece of metal I had picked up while moving two fridges and a freezer for a friend on Monday, had to narrow and fold it slightly, but at least was able to use some existing holes plus two extras. Still a lot to do in the engine bay but nothing that can't wait until after trial run.
Don't worry about the windshield rubber, I have them all but intend leaving that for someone more qualified/capable than me!
Next on my agenda is inside the cab, which I have been avoiding as it means dropping the roof panel that has been a temporary, under development, needs more work, could be a little wider, don't like the dome light or power feed wire, UHF aerial issue, bigger than Ben Hur mini project!
Ho hum, life goes on . . .

Did the horn swap from one one side to the other?
It does look the goods. You should be chuffed at how it's turned out.

Kinda good spotting Zuffen but there are two klaxons, one on each side.
I bought them about 50 years ago and they've been on several of my cars since then.
Busy day today pulling the headlining out and improving the way it is mounted, plus using some corflute (again!?) to create the basis for a lining on the rear wall of the cab.
It is still a work in progress and tomorrow it all comes out again to put some pink bats and some of the surplus Men's Shed insulation in behind it.
Despite all its faults I am mildly chuffed, thanks.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

PDU,
for some reason I did not get any updates on this thread for about a month until a few days ago.
Somebody commented on my comment about the birds getting the apricots. The answer is for you to pick them when they start to colour and BEFORE they get ripe enough to attract birds. (and wasps) Ripen them on a window sill or similar and you get them yourself. That's another reason to replace those huge trees with a younger, smaller one.
That Ron you mention regarding the tree root breaking the floor, is that LaterRon? I know him too. He will have a hell of a lot of jobs to do when he gets a Round Tuit.
Bfor is looking great, I have no doubt that he will perform faultlessly on the Clare run and will be the star of the show. I will not be able to see him and meet you because I am going into hospital on Thursday and will not be up to driving interstate in a few weeks.
You are doing a much greater, more difficult resto than my one on the Three ton Morris. I suppose you saw my comment that when I drove it an hour away to get a Roadworthy Certificate (a requirement for any type of registration in my State) the man who promised he was licenced to do a RWC on any Morris truck took one look at the compliance plate and said it was too heavy for his licence. Therefore I could not get it registered to take it to the Morris Rally and I have lost all enthusiasm for it now.
