Not much has happened with the MightBoy over the last few months.
I've been busy on another custom car I damaged and it has turned into a major rebuild and Birthday for it.
I'm just getting ready to get back into the Boy but when on the hoist the other day I noticed it had a nice steering rack leak. The answer is take it out and fix it. Hmm, that's an engine out job. At least I'm good at that.
Right now I'm contemplating getting rid of the existing power steer and replacing the power rack with a manual rack and fitting a Barina electric column instead. This would free up space in the engine bay and save a few kilos.
I had an SR20 expert out a couple of weeks ago to sort out the idle issue (you need special gear to get it right) but he couldn't loosen the idle sensor due to lack of room.
Replacing the steering will free up space and let me replace the screws in the sensor with cap head bolts he can undo them.
This is what the diversion started as.
And how it ended up.
With 500 and a bit in HP and only 1,600kg it can lift the wheels at the traffic lights.
All of it built in a tin shed.
It's legally a 2013 Individually Constructed Vehicle and the Rego papers describe it as Home made! Coppers pull me up for a look at it.

Very nice job. I think they are a great style of vehicle. I have had my eye on the Chevrolet version for a few years, trying to break him down on price. I think it is the best of the 3 makes for a lot of reasons. With all of them of course the driver is the first person to arrive at the scene of the accident. You might have solved the problem of the Chrysler/Ford models of floating back end with your ideal engine position but I suppose not much good for rubbish tip runs.
Here is the Ford vs Corvair comparison video

Stunning.
I wish I had the skills, patience and resources to do something like that.

There was a car show on TV who usually does Chryslers up to a high standard. The owner, a right dickhead, decided to build a copy of a drag racing vehicle based on the FORD version of these Ute's. He did a great job as usual.
