Austin 560F truck- paddock find! was created by MSO
We just bought this old girl, last night we kicked her in the guts and she started after sitting in a farm paddock idle for 15yrs or so...
I am hoping someone here can fill in some gaps, like the year, and where to source a distributor cap and leads, filters, carbie kit and general info.
Cheers fellow enthusiasts
Gotta click insert......sarge

Looks like a good find. For the bits and pieces you need, try Auto Surplus in Melbourne.

Sorry mate, not the slightest idea on her birthday. Closest I would guess would be late '50s to early '60s, but I could be out by decades.
Cheers,
Steve.

No worries mate, all good..
This is our first truck restoration so all info is very welcomed.
It has the craziest dizzy I have ever seen, with leads attached which are good to start , but as pouring petrol down the carby to start she sparks.
We searched the net but not alot on the 560F that we could see.
Thanks again mate

That style cab lasted up to just pre 1970 ,when the flat fronted pre Boxer style came in .........I had one with a perkins /5sp Eaton non synchro box ,and a #3 Eaton diff.....very rough to drive due to the short front springs ......When I scrapped it for the Perk ,the cab never had a spot of rust in it...reason was the steering reservoir was just behind the seat ,and if you let go of the wheel ,the cab would be sprayed in red oil......Good solid old truck ,the common one is the 460F with the petrol motor and 4 speed crash box.......sometimes very tricky to change gear in ,when the front extension gets worn and wobbly.

Pre 70 sounds like what we have found, the farmer was thinking 67 but not sure.
It is a 4litre petrol, 6 cylinder and 2 speed split box which may be seized.
It has very little rust, 2 small dents which will be easy to fix.
Picked her up yesterday, and she kicked over whith nothing done to her except petrol in and down the carby.
So pretty excited.

Welcome to the forum and the group of people with incurable diseases
Your Austin would be early to mid 60s
If it still has the zenith carby not sure where you would find a kit my Austin’s I’ve fitted stromberg carbys brakes not a pig deal wheel cylinders and master cylinder can be resleaved booster could be a bit harder
Distributer parts are around with a bit of searching
My 560f is like grandads axe had a few transplants diesel motor overdrive box and two speed diff but I’ve got a 1950 loadstar with a petrol and a 460n petrol
Cheers Bluey
